Arts Development

About Arts Development

Arts development programmes are an important part of Salford Community Leisure’s cultural offer.  Some great projects have been delivered in neighbourhoods, to offer inspiring opportunities for local people to benefit from participation alongside professional artists and arts companies.

We link into Greater Manchester, North West and national arts initiatives and organisations.  Current projects include the Eccles Arts Programme, as well as developing activities for the national Fun Palaces campaign.

We advise local partners, agencies, artists and community organisations that want to develop and commission high quality arts activities which improve the quality of life for people living in Salford.

Funders and commissioners include Community Committees in Salford, Arts Council England; North West, Greater Manchester Strategic Arts Fund, Association of Grater Manchester Authorities, Salford Primary Care Trust, Salford Clinical Commissioning Group, Neighbourhood Renewal Fund, Property Developers and Housing Associations.

Follow us on facebook to see some great photos by Nick Harrison to celebrate the highlights of the project.  If you took part, you might even spot yourself or someone you know.

Eccles Day Choir will continue to meet weekly every Wednesday 2:45-4pm at Eccles Library.  If you would like to join in just turn up or phone Eccles Library on 0161 909 6528.  The cost is £2.

Last year over 7,000 people engaged with a programme of arts outreach work.
