Key Stage 3 & 4 and further education

Ordsall Hall Tapestry

History tours

We can offer a guided tour of the building with a member of our facilitation team. This would be a good introduction to the Hall for creative writing and art as well as history topics.

If you are studying local history this tour would also be a good introduction to the history of Salford or the North West of England as Ordsall Hall is one of only eight comparable, Grade 1 listed, timber-framed, large houses in Lancashire and one of only three which retains significant fourteenth century fabric.

The tours last around an hour and can be combined with either a traditional craft activity or teacher-led activities to make a longer visit.

Traditional crafts - choose from making a soap ball, rolling a beeswax candle or making a pomander. Each student will make something which they can take away with them. This activity will last around half an hour.
