Salford Libraries introduces innovative new arts programme - Salford Libraries Live
Salford Community Libraries, which runs sixteen libraries across Salford, has developed a new events programme that will bring a schedule of high quality, arts and cultural events to libraries and Salford Museum & Art Gallery.
Salford Libraries Live, which has been funded with £71,222 from the Arts Council England, starts in October and runs until September 2019. The ambitious programme will include live theatre, music, visual and digital art, family shows, storytelling, top author events and hands-on creative workshops for people of all ages including puppet making.
The exciting events have been developed to engage existing library users and museum visitors at Eccles, Pendleton, Swinton and Walkden Libraries and Gateway Centres and at Salford Museum and Art Gallery, which is situated on The Crescent in Salford.
Sarah Spence, Head of Libraries and Heritage at Salford Community Leisure, said:
“We are very proud of our libraries in Salford; they are exciting cultural places. This is a partnership between the Arts Development, Libraries, Heritage and Music and Performing Arts services to show the local community that there is a world of interesting things happening at our libraries, both on and off the shelves.
We are looking forward to meeting new and existing members as they discover, explore, learn, watch, take part and enjoy our new Salford Libraries Live events programme.”
