Books and more

There is lots happening at your local library, so now is a great time to become a member!

We have a range of books in each of our 16 libraries including books for adults, children, teens and young adults including fiction and non-fiction.  We stock audio books on CD and MP3 and also supply free e-books and e-audiobooks to download. You can brush up on your language skills with one of our language CDs or widen your knowledge by accessing one of our free electronic resources such as Ancestry.com. Some libraries have local history collections and many libraries stock daily newspapers and magazines.

All libraries have computers available for public use, free of charge along with printing facilities for a small cost. Many libraries also have photocopying and fax facilities.  You can access our libraries online service 24 hours a day to renew your books, reserve items in stock or search our catalogue.

If you have difficulty accessing your local library you may be eligible to use the books@home service

We offer a full programme of events and activities for both adults and children. We host a regular programme of author events for adults, local history and special interest talks. Many libraries have a reading groups for adults.  Find a regular or one off event in your local library.
