Blue-green algae update

26/08/15 - Unfortunately there has been no improvement in the levels of blue-green algae, therefore open water swim and wakeboarding sessions will continue to be cancelled, up to and including Tuesday 1st September. All other activities at the centre are continuing as normal as they present a lower risk due to them being ‘on top of the water’.

We recognise how frustrating the outbreak of blue green algae is to our customers and we are working hard with Salford City Council and water quality specialists to get things back to normal. We are regularly testing the water and also we have been trying different approaches to help find a solution. Unfortunately the results from the latest method of using barley straw extract has not proved conclusive. We will keep this page updated and we appreciate our customer's patience and understanding.

At the Helly Hansen Watersports Centre you can try your hand at a fantastic range of activities. Our stores are packed full with modern up to date equipment ready for you to have fun with.

From dinghy sailing and windsurfing to power boating and climbing for the adrenalin junkies, we offer a wide range of exciting activities.  Visit their individual web pages to find out more about each activity and how you can get involved!

You can take part in activities in the following ways:
