Funding for lessons
Funding your instrumental lessons
We understand that the cost of instrumental lessons can sometimes be a barrier to learning. We work hard to keep our costs competitive whilst still attracting high quality experienced tutors to work for us.
Ghosh Trust Bursary
We are excited to announce that we are now able to offer a bursary to talented young musicians in Year 10 or above to assist towards the cost of their instrumental lessons. Applications to the bursary are now open and will close on Friday 13 December 2019 at 5pm. More information about the eligibility criteria and how to apply can be found on the document attached to this page.
About the Ghosh Trust
The Ghosh Trust (formally the Ghosh Bequest) was established in September 1948 out of the estate of the late Dr Jotindranath Ghosh by a bequest in his will for the benefit of the children of Salford to provide assistance to them in the study of English literature and language. In 2014 the trustees agreed that the charity would also support students engaged in further educational studies in music, drama and dance.
This bursary has been established to run annually from September 2019. Successful applicants from this scheme who are considering studying music, English literature or English language at degree level are encouraged to apply to the Trust for further support during their degree studies. For more information about how to do this please contact the MAPAS office.
Salford Foundation Trust
The Salford Foundation Trust is a grant giving charity that helps children and young people aged 5-25 years living in Salford to develop their hobbies, interests, skills and talents. Applications are open at different points throughout the year - for the must up to date information, visit their website.
