Suzuki Strings | MAPAS has a strong reputation for teaching the Suzuki method and this very specialist ensemble is for musicians looking to utilise their skills within a group. Please contact the MAPAS office for more information about our Suzuki ensmeble. | Beginner level | 5.00pm to 5.45pm |
MAPAS Maestros | This is a fun orchestra introducing young musicians to the joys of ensemble playing. Open to all beginner string, brass and woodwind players who are having lessons or learning at school. | Beginner level | 5.00pm to 5.45pm |
MAPAS Maestros Percussion | Open to all pupils with an interest in percussion and rhythm. Exploring a world of percussion instruments in a fun and engaging manner. | Beginner level | 5.00pm to 5.45pm |
Training Strings | For all string players progressing with their playing and looking to explore the family of instruments at the forefront of every Orchestra. | Grade 1 to 3 | 5.45pm to 6.45pm |
Training Band | Once you are a graduate of either of our two Maestros ensembles you can become a member of our Training Band. Come and perform arrangements of popular songs on your chosen instrument. | Grade 1 to 3 | 5.45pm to 6.45pm |
Salford Youth Concert Band | Our senior wind ensemble perform regularly throughout the city including regular performances with Salford University. The band explore both traditional and modern music utilising all the musical colours a wind band offers. | Grade 4+ | 5.45pm to 7.00pm |
Concert Strings | This ensemble is for musicians with a real talent for violin, viola, cello or double bass. The Concert Strings are often involved in a collaboration projects throughout the region and have a reputation for nurturing some fantastic string musicians. | Grade 4+ | 5.45pm to 7.00pm |
Salford Youth Orchestra | Our flagship orchestral ensemble for all brass, woodwind, string and percussion musicians. The Orchestra explore challenging and exciting music composed throughout the history of Classical music. Musicians from the Salford Youth Orchestra often go on to join one of the Greater Manchester Music Hub ensembles. | Grade 4+ | 7.15pm to 8.30pm |
Synth Orchestra | One of MAPAS' newest ensembles our Synth Orchestra gives all pianists and keyboardists a chance to perform together. With a world of sound at your fingertips the Synth Orchestra is perfect for exploring film music and arrangements of popular songs. | All Levels | 7:30pm to 8:30pm |
