WW1 Networking Event

Langworthy Road Military Hospital
Date and time:
Saturday, 14 November 2015 - 12:30pm to 3:00pm

Join us for an afternoon of World War One Commemoration in the WW1 exhibition '100 Years Ago: Salford at War', including a performance from the Honour Choir and a talk from the author of 'Salford Pal's, Michael Stedman.

With an update from the 'Salford Remembers' project, there is also an opportunity to share ideas and link up with other individuals and groups who are involved with WW1 commemoration.

Presentation by Michael Stedman

Between 1914 and 1918 many thousands of Salford's men served in locally raised battalions of infantry as well as other specialised units and forces. The four battalions of infantry, known as "The Salford Pals",  are the subject of Michael's presentation and describes their journey from the heartland of Salford's community into the despair and horror that was the Somme battlefield and beyond into the Army of Occupation in Germany and their return after the war.

Refreshments provided.
