There are some exciting changes coming to Clarendon Leisure Centre this year commencing February 2024.

We’ll be carrying out work to:

  • Extend the gym
  • Introduce brand new state of the art Matrix cardio equipment
  • Redecorate and refresh the gym
  • Replace the boilers
  • Resurface and remark the car park

Unfortunately, because of the extent of building works required, this means that the centre will have full and part closures between February and April 2024 as follows:

  • The centre will close on Monday 19th February for approximately 6 weeks to allow for the boiler replacement work to be undertaken
  • The pool will re-open on Tuesday 2nd April after having the boiler replaced. Work will then begin on the gym refurbishment and sports hall
  • The sports hall, gym, studio and squash court will then re-open later this Spring

Exact dates for the phased re-opening will be communicated nearer to the time. Swimming lesson customers will be advised of any programme changes in due course.

As a result of the gym extension, the sports hall will reopen with two courts rather than the previous four courts. During the closure, you can continue to book badminton courts at Eccles, Irlam & Cadishead and Swinton & Pendlebury Leisure Centres.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. You can continue to use the facilities at our other leisure centres across the city during this time, or if you prefer, you can choose to freeze your membership free of charge, and your membership will reactivate once the gym reopens. Alternatively you may wish to cancel your membership which you can also do free of charge.

We will keep you updated with further details and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email us or speak to a member of the team on your next visit.

Many thanks for your understanding whilst we bring you a new and exciting refurbishment at Clarendon Leisure Centre.
