Walkden Library temporary closure

10th September 2019

Walkden Library will be closing temporarily for essential improvements from Monday 16 September 2019, re-opening on Monday 7 October. During this time, both the adult and children's spaces will be closed and there will be no PCs available for public use. The Gateway Centre itself will be open as usual, only the library areas will be affected.

When the library re-opens both the adult and children's libraries will be located together on the Ground Floor, making it easier for families to use the facilities and for staff to provide a better service to our customers of all ages.

During the closure you can use any library in Salford, including locally Little Hulton, Worsley and Boothstown and also other Gateway Centres at Swinton and Eccles. Any books you have can be returned to other libraries, but if you do have any which are due for return during the closure, don't worry - you can bring them back after Walkden Library re-opens and you will not be fined.

If you are notified of a reserved book to be collected at Walkden Library, you will be able to collect it during the closure.

We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and look forward to welcoming you back to your new look library soon.

If you have any queries, please email us at walkden.library@scll.co.uk.
