Music and Performing Arts Salford (MAPAS)

MAPAS stands for Music and Performing Arts Salford and we are here to offer opportunities in the performing arts for all.

We teach lessons at our evening arts centres where people of any age can learn to play an instrument, sing in a choir, play in a band or orchestra, act in a theatre group, learn about the theory of music and perform at high profile events. In fact you can be as expressive as you like!

You can find more information about provisional concert dates and Arts Centre term dates here.

We also work closely with schools throughout the City, teaching weekly lessons and organising large scale events throughout the year.

We are a strategic partner in the Greater Manchester Music Hub with the responsibility for delivering the government’s policy on music education in partnership with schools and other organisations.

As a charity, we are always grateful for donations towards the vital work we do in the community. For more information about how you can contribute, please visit our support us page.

Beyond our work in schools, we are continually developing opportunities for working with others from different age groups and parts of our community.

So if you are a budding concert pianist, rock star, actor or just enjoy being involved in the performing arts MAPAS has something for you.

We provide local kids the chance to get musical.

Last year we taught over 3,000 school pupils how to play a musical instrument and provided music lessons in over 70 schools.
